About This Drug

Amlexanox is a topical skin-ulcer medication used to treat mouth ulcers (canker sores) in people who have a normal immune system.

Amlexanox speeds up the healing of mouth ulcers and slows the production or release of substances that cause inflammation, but the exact way it accomplishes these benefits is not known.
