Important Precautions

Tell your health-care practitioner if you are sensitive or allergic to any of the components of this drug combination or to any other drugs.
Because it contains aspirin, this drug combination should not be taken by anyone younger than age 16 or if you develop dizziness, hearing loss, or ringing in the ears.
Butalbital/aspirin/caffeine should not be used if you have liver damage. Use it with extreme caution if you have asthma or other respiratory problems.
Long-term use of this drug combination can lead to drug dependence and addiction.
This drug combination may cause drowsiness and dizziness. Therefore, make sure you know how you react to the drug before you drive or operate hazardous equipment.
This drug contains aspirin, which may interfere with blood clotting. If you are planning to undergo surgery, tell your health-care practitioner or dentist you are taking this drug combination.

Pregnant Women

The butalbital/aspirin/caffeine combination is associated with birth defects, delayed delivery, prolonged labor, and breathing problems for the newborn. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, talk to your health-care practitioner immediately. Regular use of this drug combination during the last 3 months of pregnancy can result in drug dependency in the newborn.

This drug combination passes into breast milk. If you are breastfeeding, your health-care practitioner will likely advise you to stop until you have completed treatment. Infants who breastfeed with women who are taking butalbital/aspirin/caffeine may experience shortness of breath, slow heartbeat, or tiredness.

Seniors

Side effects may be more common and more severe in older adults. Especially troublesome may be lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting when rising suddenly from a lying or sitting position.
