Getting Started
You can create this beret using partial balls of your favorite yarns. This design includes a bit of chenille for sheer comfort, a smidgen of nubby yarn for dimension, and a touch of fun fur—well, for fun, of course.

This hat is worked in rounds from the top down.
Special Stitch
Front Post Single Crochet
- Insert hook from front to back to front again, around the post of the next st, yo, draw through st, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook.

You Will Need
- Color A, 1 skein of worsted weight homespun yarn
- Color B, 1 skein of worsted weight chenille yarn
- Color C, 1 skein of feather/fun fur type yarn
- Color D, 1 skein of bulky/nubby type yarn in multi-colors
- Yarn needle
- Hooks, 4mm/ G-6 and 5mm/H-8 or sizes needed to obtain gauge.

- Double Crochet (dc)
- Slip Stitch (sl st)
Gauge
- Gauge may vary depending on yarn and hook used. As a guide, use yarns and hooks that will achieve the following gauges: With H-8 hook and A, first 3 rnds = 2" in diameter; 16 sts = 4"
- Always take time to check your gauge.
Pattern Notes
- Rnd 6 is marked for later addition of a flap. Rnds 15–25 form a second flap. Rnd 14 is marked for later addition of sides, worked on wrong side of hat.

- Color B, 1 skein of worsted weight chenille yarn in mauve
- Color C, 1 skein of feather/fun-fur type yarn in burgundy
- Color D, 1 skein of bulky/nubby type yarn in multi-colors, primarily blue and purple
Size
- This hat will fit most adult heads.
