Getting Started

The tote is worked in the round from the bottom up, and then the bottom is seamed. Directions for creating the lining of your choice are at the end of the instructions.

Skill Level

  • Intermediate

You Will Need

  • Approximately 504yd/454m sport weight rayon yarn
  • Hook, 4.5mm/G-6 or size needed to obtain gauge
  • 18 x 34"/45 x 86cm piece of lining fabric
  • Paper to create lining pattern
  • Scissors
  • Straight pins
  • Sewing needle and matching thread
  • Sewing machine (optional)

Gauge

  • 6 arches = 6"/15cm
  • 8 rows = 2"/5cm over pattern stitch
  • Take time to check your gauge.

Stitches Used

  • Chain stitch (ch)
  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Slip stitch (sl st)

Materials Used in Featured Bag

  • 4 balls of Gedifra’s Crystal, 100% nylon, 1.75oz/50g balls = approximately 126yd/115m each, in color #2517, Chartreuse

Finished Measurements

  • Approximately 14 x 14"/36 x 36cm, not including handles
