Instructions
Crown
- Ch 4 and sl st in 1st ch to form ring.
- Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 6 sc in ring (6 sc). Do not join, work in a spiral.
- Rnd 2: Place marker in 1st st. 2 hdc in ea st around (12 hdc).
- Rnd 3: (Hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st) around (18 hdc).
- Rnd 4: 2 hdc in ea st around (36 hdc).
- Rnd 5: Hdc in ea st around (36 hdc).
- Rnd 6: (Hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st) around (48 hdc).
- Rnd 7: (Hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st) around (60 hdc).
- Rnd 8: (Hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st) around (70 hdc).
- Rnds 9–13: Hdc in ea st around (70 hdc).
Brim
- Work sts in rnds 14–17 in front loops (FL) only.
- Rnd 14: Hdc in ea st around (70 hdc).
- Rnd 15: (Hdc in next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st) around (84 hdc).
- Rnds 16–17: Hdc in ea st around (84 hdc). At end of last rnd, sl st in next hdc to join. Fasten off. Weave in all yarn ends.
Tab
- Ch 15.
- Row 1: Working in back loops of sts, work 2 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, ch 1, sk next ch (for buttonhole), hdc in each of next 8 ch, ch 1, sk next ch (for buttonhole), hdc in each of last 2 ch. Fasten off. Weave in all yarn ends.
Measure distance between buttonholes on tab. Sew buttons to rnd 12 of crown the same distance apart as buttonholes on tab. Button on the tab.
