You Will Need

• 153yd/138m worsted weight merino wool yarn
• Hook, 6.5mm/K-10 1/2 or size needed to obtain gauge
• Yarn needle

Gauge

• First 3 rnds = 2-1⁄2" in diameter
• 12 sts = 4"
• 14 rows in sc = 4"
• Always take time to check your gauge.

Pattern Notes

• This hat is worked in spiraling rounds through rnd 16. Don’t join rounds. Use a stitch marker to indicate first stitch in round, move it up at beginning of each round.

Stitches Used

• Chain stitch (ch)
• Single crochet (sc)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Slip stitch (sl st)
• Puff stitch (puff st), (Yo, insert hook in st, yo, draw through st) 4 times in same st (9 loops on hook), yo, draw yarn through 9 loops on hook.
• Reverse single crochet (reverse sc): Working from left to right, insert hook in next st to the right, yo, draw yarn through st, yo, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook.

• 1 skein of Malabrigo’s Kettle Dyed worsted weight yarn, 100% pure merino wool, 3.5oz/100g = 215yd/196m, in Cadmium
