How to Share Digital Photos Online
If you have internet access, you can take a photo and share it with the world in seconds. To do this, you’ll need to email photos or post photos to an online photo-sharing service.
How to Email Photos
Follow these steps to email your photos with ease:
- Save a copy of your photo: Don’t modify or email the original—always preserve your original files.
- Resize your photo: Use the Image Size option in your image-editing software to change the dimensions of your photo to 800 × 600 pixels.
- Save the photo as a .jpeg file: Use your image-editing software to save the photo in the .jpeg file format.
- Email it: Attach the photo to an email addressed to as many recipients as you’d like, then send it.
How to Use an Online Photo-Sharing Service
Online photo-sharing services are an easy way to share lots of pictures with many people at once. Two of the most popular free services are Flickr and Shutterfly:
- Flickr: The web’s largest photo-sharing site, Flickr (www.flickr.com) allows you to share photos privately (with friends and family) or publicly.
- Shutterfly: In addition to basic photo-sharing features, Shutterfly (www.shutterfly.com) allows you to make collaborative albums in which you and your friends can add pictures, write comments, and so on.
