About This Drug
Donepezil is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor used to treat mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease.
This drug inhibits the breakdown of acetylcholine, a chemical in the brain that is needed for memory. A deficiency of this chemical may result in the memory loss associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
