How to Place Fabric in a Hoop
Before you begin any stitching session, put your fabric into a hoop by following these steps:
- Lay the inner (smaller) ring on a flat surface.
- Center the design (or the part of the design you want to work on), right side up, over the ring.
- Place the outer (larger) adjustable ring over the fabric, positioning the screw at the top or bottom.
- Press down on the outer ring until it’s snug against the inner ring.

- Tighten the screw until the fit is secure and the fabric is stretched evenly and stays taut.
When you’ve finished a stitching session, always remove the fabric from the hoop. This prevents marks or distortions in the fabric. Take care not to grip the fabric itself when stitching. Instead, hold the embroidery hoop.
