Fishing Etiquette
There are unwritten rules of fishing—generally accepted forms of etiquette you should be aware of when you begin freshwater fishing—that you won’t find in a regulation booklet. Keep in mind the following:
- Don’t start to fish right next to another person who has been fishing in a spot before you.
- Keep quiet and don’t disturb the person or people fishing near you.
- Most important, kill only those fish you wish to eat, provided they meet the regulations required by your state. Revive and return to the water any other fish that you catch.
