How to Fold a Dress Shirt
There are a variety of different ways to fold a dress shirt. The technique shown here produces a very clean fold. If you find this method difficult, though, you may prefer to use the technique covered in How to Fold a Sweater for your dress shirts as well.
- Button the shirt, then lay it face down on a flat surface and smooth it out. For best results, iron the shirt before folding it and fold while still warm.

- Fold in the sleeves so that they form a vertical line up to the midpoint between the neck and shoulder of the shirt. Fold in only the sleeves of the shirt—not the sides of the shirt.

- Fold in both sides of the shirt so that they meet in the middle of the shirt. Make sure the folds are flat
(not pointed) across the top.

- Fold the shirt up from the bottom either once (folding the shirt in half) or twice (folding it into thirds), depending on the length of the shirt and your preference. Then flip it over. The image here shows the shirt folded twice.
