Beading common household items is an exciting way to add color and interest to your home. Once you get started, you’ll see opportunities everywhere.

Skill Level

  • Beginner

Materials

  • Cylindrical candleholder with metal frame, 7" x 3-1⁄2" (17.8 x 8.9 cm)
  • Black spray paint
  • 20-gauge silver craft wire
  • 24-gauge silver craft wire
  • 100 assorted red India glass beads, 1⁄4" to 1" (6 mm to 2.5 cm)
  • 8 assorted red carved bone beads with a Chinese motif, 3⁄4" to 1-1⁄4" (1.9 to 3.1 cm)
  • 30 black beads, 3⁄8" (1 cm)

Tools & Supplies

  • Medium-grit sandpaper
  • Measuring tape
  • Wire cutters
  • Chain-nose or flat-nose pliers
