Beading the Handle
- Remove the original handle from the teapot.
- String one ferrule onto the wire cable. Pass the cable end through one of the holes where the original teapot handle was attached. Pass the cable back through the ferrule, leaving a 1" (2.5 cm) tail. Pull the ferrule along the cable until it is as close to the teapot as possible. Use the pliers to squeeze the ferrule firmly. Trim the tail close to the ferrule with wire cutters.
- String on the beads in the following order: one tube bead, one carved barrel bead, one tube bead, one large barrel bead, one tube bead, one large barrel bead, one tube bead, one large barrel bead, one tube bead, one carved barrel bead, one tube bead, and one ferrule. Pass the cable through the opposite hole where the original handle was attached and back through the ferrule. Pull all the beads tight and squeeze the ferrule. Trim the tail close to the ferrule.
Creating the Beaded Neck Strand
- Use the 28-gauge wire to string one tube bead, one carved barrel bead, and one tube bead. Slightly bend the end of the wire so the beads don’t fall off.
- String on one large glass bead and one small glass bead. Repeat until you have a strand long enough to wrap around the neck of the teapot. Twist the ends of the wires together so the beads lay snug against the teapot. Trim the twist and tuck it inside the closest large-holed bead.
