Instructions

Collar

  • (work B&F)
  • Note, sl the first st of each row.
  • Using 29"/73cm cn and yarn A, CO 32 (34, 36, 38) sts.
  • Row 1: sl 1, k to end.
  • Row 2: rep Row 1.

Yoke

  • (work B&F)
  • The first 2 sts of each side are worked in garter stitch for front band throughout.
  • Row 1 (RS): sl 1, k6 (6, 7, 7) left front sts, pm, k5 sleeve sts, pm, k8 (10, 10, 12) back sts, pm, k5 sleeve sts, pm, k7 (7, 8, 8) right front sts.
  • Row 2 (WS): sl 1, k1, * work seed st until 1 st before marker, p1, sl marker, p1, repeat from * for each subsequent marker, work seed st, end k2.
  • Row 3 (RS): sl 1, k1, * work seed stitch to 1 st before first marker, t1, sl marker, k1, t1, repeat from * for each subsequent marker, work seed st across, end k2 (8 sts inc).
  • Rep Rows 2 and 3, 11 (12, 13, 15) times more—128 (138, 148, 166) sts.

Divide Yoke

  • (work B&F)
  • Separate body and sleeves.
  • Row 1 (RS): sl 1, k1, work 17 (18, 20, 22) left front sts in pat, CO 1 (1, 2, 1) sts, pm, CO 0 (1, 1, 1), place 29 (31, 33, 37) sleeve sts on 16"/40cm cn and hold aside, k32 (36, 38, 44) back sts, CO 0 (1, 1, 1), pm, CO 1 (1, 2, 1), place 29 (31, 33, 37) sleeve sts on 16"/40cm cn and hold aside, work 17 (18, 20, 22) sts in pat, end k2 sts.

Body

  • (work B&F)
  • Work in pat for 10 (11, 12, 12)"/25 (28, 31, 31)cm—remember to sl the first st in each row and keep the 2 st of the front bands in garter st.

Hem

  • K 2 rnds.
  • BO loosely.

Sleeves

  • (work ITR)
  • Using 29 (31, 33, 37) sleeve sts on 16"/40cm cn, pm at underarm, changing to dpn as necessary.
  • Join and work in pat for 1"/2.5cm.
  • Next rnd: K2tog, work in pat across, end k2tog.
  • Work 4 rnds in pat.
  • Repeat last 5 rnds, 5 (6, 6, 6) times more—16 (18, 20, 20) sts.
  • Work pat until desired sleeve length.

Cuff

  • K 1 rnd.
  • P 1 rnd.
  • BO loosely.
  • Work second sleeve same as the first.

Finishing

  • Sew body and underarms together on each sleeve.
  • Using tapestry needle, weave in ends.

Cuff Decoration

  • Thread a tapestry needle with yarn B. Using a doubled strand, weave the yarn in and out of the raised seed of the seed st along the 4 bottom rows of the cuff.

Tie

  • (make 2)
  • Using the crochet hook and yarn B, make a 12"/31cm-long chain. Fasten off. Attach each tie to front neck edge. On either side of top neckline, sew a large button over the spot where the tie is attached.
