Getting Started
Raised bands of gold emphasize the shimmering green base. For variation, keep the gold yarn and use another color of your choice. The result will be a soft and elegant afghan that coordinates with your home decor. When changing colors, use bobbins.

Materials
- Approximate total, 1202yd/1100m viscose, bulky weight yarn
- Color A, 656yd/600m in green
- Color B, 546yd/500m in gold
Tools & Supplies
- Knitting needles, 6.5mm (Size 10 U.S.) or size to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle for weaving the ends
- Yarn bobbins
- Large crochet hook for attaching the fringe
- Cardboard strip, 3"/7.6cm wide, for making the fringe
Gauge
- 11 sts and 16 rows = 4"/10cm over St st
- Always take time to check your gauge.
Pattern Note
- The border stitches and rows 4 and 5 are worked with color B only.
Pattern Stitch
- Row 1 (WS): With A, purl.
- Row 2 (RS): With A, knit.
- Row 3: With A, purl.
- Row 4: With B, knit into front and back of each st.
- Row 5: With B, *k2tog; rep from * to end.
- Row 6: With A, knit.
- Row 7: With A, purl.
- Row 8: With A, knit.
- Repeat rows 1–8 for pat.

Special Abbreviations
- Inc 1: Knit in front then in back of the stitch
