About This Drug
Lisinopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used to treat mild to severe high blood pressure (hypertension). It is also used to reduce the risk of death after heart attacks and for congestive heart failure. Lisinopril may be prescribed alone or with other high blood pressure medications. This drug works by blocking an enzyme in the body, which relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.
