Important Precautions
- Tell your health-care practitioner if you are sensitive or allergic to memantine or to any other drugs.
- Do not take memantine if you have severe kidney failure.
- Because memantine can cause dizziness, you should make sure you know how you react to the drug before you drive or operate hazardous equipment.
Pregnant Women
Adequate studies of the effects of memantine on pregnant or nursing women have not been done. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, talk to your health-care practitioner.
Seniors
Side effects are more likely to occur and are more severe in older adults.
