Pears are rich in fiber and contain potassium and copper. The nutrients in dried pears are much more concentrated; dried pears are rich in potassium and constitute a good source of copper and iron, in addition to containing magnesium, vitamin C, phosphorus, and sodium. Unripe pears are difficult to digest and have a laxative effect, while ripe pears are said to be diuretic, remineralizing, stomachic, and sedative.
