Getting Started
In this project, you'll learn how to start with a pattern and make embellishments and modifications to it to create a beautiful skirt in the fabric of your choice. Remember, when picking a pattern, to pay attention to the style, fit, and construction information on the pattern envelope. Also remember to read through the fabric suggestions, notions, and fabric requirements so you'll be sure to get everything you need while you're at the store.
In this example, a pattern for a full, lined skirt with a zipper and yoke was used and gathered mesh tulle was added along the hem for an added dose of attitude.
