8. Grasp the Bird’s Tail (Right Style)
- Begin in last position of form 7.
- Shift weight backward and lift left toes. Pivot right, both feet planted firmly on the ground. Shift weight back, lift left toes, and turn right.
- Inhaling, lower left foot and maintain hands at chest level, palms down.
- Shift back and toward left. Drop right arm. Move left hand across body at throat level.
- Bring right foot to lean against left. Move into “ball holding” position.
- Kick right foot out, heel on the floor. Move left hand right and right hand left.
- Inhaling, shift weight onto right foot. Move both arms outward in opposite directions.
- Pivot right. Move both arms up and forward, left palm up and right palm down.
- Shift weight left and face forward. Move hands down and across body, turning palms.
- Pivot right and place left fingers over and against right wrist.
- Exhaling, shift forward over right leg. Push hands out at shoulder level.
- Shift weight left, bringing arms in toward waist. Raise right toes off ground.
- Exhaling, raise hands to shoulder height. Shift weight forward onto right leg. Use body to push hands forward, palms out.
