How to Clean Baked-On Food From Pots and Pans
If food gets really baked on to the interior of your pots and pans, and you’re having a hard time scrubbing it off, there are a few things you can do to make the job easier:
- Fill the pot or pan with hot water.
- Add 1/4 cup baking soda and a few squirts of dishwashing liquid.
- Bring the mixture in the pot or pan to a boil, then turn off the heat.
- Let the pot or pan sit for 30–60 minutes.
- Scrape the inside of the pot or pan with a wooden spoon, wooden or rubber spatula, or some other nonabrasive dishwashing tool.
- Wash the pot or pan as you normally would.
