About This Drug
Zolpidem is used on a short-term basis to treat insomnia. Occasionally this drug has been prescribed for longer periods of time. It has less of a “hangover” effect than many other sleeping pills.
Zolpidem works by attaching to a specific receptor in the brain. Its goal is to reduce the amount of time between when you go to bed and when you fall asleep.
